The monarch had engaged the woman in a conversation trying to explain the origin of humanity to her. He probably was expecting his interpreters to explain to the woman when she shocked all by responding in flawless Yoruba. The white woman then explained how she had earned a PhD from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) over 30 years ago.
