Chibuike Onwuchekwa: Man Rubbed Salt And Pepper Into His Housemaid’s Injuries For Failing To Fill Two Water Containers In Aba
A man identified as Chibuike Onwuchekwa has been accused of inflicting serious bodily harm on his maid. It’s gathered that the man rubbed salt and pepper into his housemaid’s injuries for failing to fill two water containers at Umuga Ovom in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to Vanguard, Onwuchekwa and his wife sent the 10-year-old girl to fill two water containers in their house from a nearby borehole last Sunday while they left for church service. However, the pair returned from church to discover that the girl couldn’t fill the two containers before the borehole owner closed shop. This infuriated Onwuchekwa to the extent that he beat up the girl leaving her with injuries. He then locked her up and left for an event with his wife despite neighbours pleading on behalf of the girl.
According to one resident who identified himself as Nkem, they invited the police when the girl escaped from the house to inform them that Onwuchekwa poured a mixture of salt and pepper on the injuries he inflicted on her during the earlier beating. He added that the little girl had been beaten up on other occasions by Onwuchekwa. In one instance, the resident disclosed that the young girl was accused of theft in her school. He then beat her even though she was absolved of the accusation by her teachers.
A senior Police officer at the Eastern Ngwa Division confirmed the incident, adding that the girl is receiving medical attention. Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said he was not aware of the incident.
