Ghanaian Actress Yvonne Nelson Thinks Those Criticising Her For Giving Birth Out Of Wedlock Are Hypocrites
In Africa, people generally frown at women who are not married and those who chose to have babies without getting married to the child’s father. Such women are viewed as loose/promiscuous and irresponsible. However, a lot of celebs in Nigeria and Ghana couldn’t really be bothered about what people think until the pressure piles up. Speaking in the studios of UTV, Yvonne Nelson said that those people criticising her for giving birth out of wedlock are hypocrites. The ‘Princess Tyra’ actress said she isn’t bothered when these people attack her.
Yvonne Nelson also claimed to be better than celebrities who got married but ended up in a messy divorce. Yvonne said in the Twi language:
“I am not bothered when they criticise me because I know only hypocrites do.”
“Fine, I know I have sinned by giving birth without a marriage. But what about those in the industry who have had pastors blessed their weddings yet they still get divorced? I am better than them.”
