Real-Life Fairy Tales Character: Meet Alia Nasroya The Lady Who Took 20 Years To Grow Her 90-Inch-long Hair
We have all read about Rapunzel whose hair was so long that the prince could climb up it to rescue her from the witch’s castle in the fairy tales. Well, meet Alia Nasroya the lady who took 20 years to grow her 90-inch-long hair. Alia is referred to as the real-life Rapunzel. The 27-year-old who lives in Riga, Latvia, has really long hair that even her husband thinks of it as another member of the family. Infact, this real-life Rapunzel’s hair measures 90 inches to the floor, weighs in in at 4.5lbs (2kg) and has its own space in bed.
Her husband Ivan Balaban sees his wife’s hair as another member of the family. He also says Alia’s hair limits his his space to stretch out in the marital bed. He said:
“I am always cuddling up the wall to give more space for hair, so there is no way I can damage it accidentally, mix them up or harm it any other way.
“I always talk to the braid respectfully. Sometimes I ask it to move a bit.”
The couple also have to schedule their holidays around Aliia’s haircare needs. He added:
“When we are going away to somewhere we always plan the entire day for it since we understand that otherwise we will lose one day from our vacation and we will have to sit inside at home.”
According to Alia Nasroya, she got her inspiration to grow her hair by the female characters in fairy tales like Rapunzel. She said:
“I started to grow my hair because since childhood I liked long hair very much. And I was always attracted by long hair heroines from fairy tales.”
