Latest Hip Hop News: Snoop Dogg And Queen Latifah Re-Record “Rapper’s Delight” For ESPN’s 40th Anniversary
American cable television network, Empire and Sports Programming Network(ESPN) will be celebrating their 40th anniversary come September 7th, and as part of the celebration, Snoop Dogg and Queen Latifah,will re-record “Rapper’s Delight”. If you recall, The Sugarhill Gang originally made the track popular. The original single was released on September 16th, 1979, a week after ESPN started operation.
This time, Snoop and Latifah’s version will be target ESPN-targeted lyrics and appearances from ESPN’s on-air personalities. The video for the two legendary rappers version of “Rapper’s Delight” will debut across all of ESPN’s platforms in September. The video will reportedly see through ESPN structures.
The 24-hour sports network has incorporated Hip-Hop into its strategy to grow its viewers for about a decade now. The likes of Drake, Lil Wayne, Quavo and T.I. among others have featured in the sports network to give their opinions and predictions on sports.
