Three Months UAE Tourist Visa Cancelled For Nigerians Following After Dubai Robbery
Following the arrest of five Nigerians for robbery in Dubai, the three months UAE tourist visa has been cancelled for Nigerian passport holders.
It’s understood they are now restricted to 1 months, 96 hours and 48 hours UAE tourist Visa till further notice.
A travels and tours firm, Afric Holidays, announced this in a statement through its Instagram page. The statement read:
“Nigerian Passport holders are no longer eligible to three months UAE Tourist Visa.
“Nigerian Passport holders are now restricted to one month, 96 hours and 48 hours UAE Tourist Visas till further notice.”
The Federal Government has condemned the actions of the Nigerians who were arrested in the robbery involving a whopping Dh 2.3 million Dinars in Sharjah area of Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE). The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said this in a statement to NAN by her media aide, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The five Nigerian robbery suspects allegedly stormed a money exchange centre in Sharjah on Sunday and fled with 2.3 million Dinars. However, they were apprehended by the Dubai Police. The five suspects who were on visitors visas to Dubai include Chimuanya Ozoh, Benjamin Ajah, Kingsley Ngoka, Tochukwu Alisi and Chile Ndunagu.
According to the police, the Nigerian robbers stormed into bureau de change and smashed the glass barrier between the customers and the staff. It was then they stole the money in multiple currencies and fled.
